Claude Code forgets what you decided. Assertion doesn't.
Keep your decisions, and the reasons behind them, across sessions. Assertion captures them as you work and brings them back when they matter, with citations.

Let's put Redis in front of the search endpoint.
Claude Code, with memory
Before we do: you ruled out Redis for search on Oct 3. The index fits in memory, and Redis would add a second service to deploy, so you went with an in-process LRU cache. Want to revisit that, or extend the LRU?

“Our team works from one shared memory. When someone picks up our algorithm work, their coding agent already knows what everyone else has tried and why, so we build on each other's work instead of repeating it. Day to day, it's also made my LLM interactions more productive.”
“My architecture work needs to consider hundreds of components over long timelines. With Assertion, I spend less time assembling and maintaining context. It gives each new Claude Code session fast access to my whole history of decisions, without blowing the token budget.”
Start with your next session
Add memory to the tool you already use.
Paste this into a terminal before you start Claude Code. It adds the plugin and opens your browser to sign in.
claude plugin marketplace add Assertion-AI/assertion && claude plugin install assertion@assertion-ai && python3 ~/.claude/plugins/marketplaces/assertion-ai/plugin/scripts/assertion.py login --client claude-code
Sign in with your email or Google and click Connect, then start Claude Code. Memory is on from the first session.

/plugin marketplace add Assertion-AI/assertion/plugin install assertion@assertion-ai/reload-plugins/assertion:login
Paste these into Claude Code one at a time.
Your first useful recall
Try it with one project decision.
01 / Work
Make a real decision.
Work through a tradeoff with Claude Code: a library, an architecture choice, or a fix. Say why you chose it.
02 / Check
See what it kept.
After the session, open your memory in the Studio and find the decision and its reason.
03 / Return
Pick it up in a new session.
Ask Claude Code: “What did we decide about [topic], and why?” It answers with the decision and where it came from.
Your computer appears at studio.assertion-ai.com/plugin with the time of its last capture.
Works alongside CLAUDE.md
Keep the rule. Remember the reason.
CLAUDE.md holds the instructions you maintain. Assertion keeps the decisions that come up while you work, and updates them when you change your mind.
In CLAUDE.md
“Use an in-process cache for search.”
In your memory
“We considered Redis and rejected it: a second service to deploy, and the index fits in memory. We chose an in-process LRU cache.”
You don't write a second document or keep it up to date.

If something's off
Claude Code says /plugin isn't a command
Plugins need a recent Claude Code. Run claude update in a terminal, start Claude Code again, and repeat the commands.
The sign-in page sent me back to the start
Private browser windows can lose the sign-in partway through. Run /assertion:login again and finish it in a normal window.
Updating later
Run /assertion:upgrade, then /reload-plugins. Same session, no restart.
CI or a shared machine
Use a key instead of signing in. It's on studio.assertion-ai.com/plugin under Use a key instead. /assertion:logout signs this computer out.

Using something else?
It's one memory. Whatever you keep here is there in the other tools too.
